Actor turned politician Vijayakanth has announced that he is willing to allot a portion of land in the campus of his Shri Andal Alagar College of Engineering for the burial of coronavirus victims. The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) leader in his statement said that the news of a COVID-19 dead doctor's body not being allowed to be buried has caused him shock as well as grief. He requested the state government to help people understand that the disease will not spread after a person dies due to the virus.
Vijayakanth further goes on to say people should show compassion towards others who are affected by the coronavirus. He further says that any person born in this world is bound to die someday. Vijayakanth also raised the question that one must wonder how difficult the situation will be for an ordinary person if such treatment is meted out to doctors after their death due to the COVID-19 outbreak. He expressed his disappointment by saying it is saddening that Tamilians who shower respect on fellow beings have shown disrespect to a doctor who has served us.
