'Thalapathy' Vijay's fans are still continuing the celebrations nearly two weeks after the superstar's upcoming film Master's teaser was released as a Diwali treat. Currently the most-liked teaser in India, the Master teaser also recently became the most-liked South Indian teaser/trailer on YouTube surpassing the earlier record held by Vijay's Bigil trailer. It is to be noted that the Master teaser is also the most-liked Vijay video ever, while it also proved instrumental in pushing the Sun TV YouTube channel's subscribers count to more than 10 million (1 crore).

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj under Xavier Britto's XB Film Creators banner and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, the teaser for Master has now crossed more than 40 million views on YouTube and is not far behind the record for the most-viewed Tamil film teaser. Vijay's Bigil trailer holds the top spot for the most-viewed Tamil film trailer, while his Mersal stands first in being the most-viewed Tamil film teaser. The current standings for the top most-viewed trailer/teaser are the Bigil trailer with 54 million views, followed by the Mersal teaser at 45 million views, Sarkar teaser nearing the 44 million views mark, Master teaser with 40 million views and Raghava Lawrence's Kanchana 3 trailer at 38 million views. Going by the rate at which fans are watching the Master teaser, it won't be surprising if it surpasses in the next few days the record for the most-viewed trailer/teaser, at present being held by Vijay's Bigil.

Vijay's Master teaser is once again proving that the superstar is clearly dominating the fan space with each film that he brings out. As of now, there is a strong talk that the film will hit the screens in early 2021, most likely as a Pongal release in January. Both producer Xavier Britto and director Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed sometime back that Master will only come out in theatres, while adding that it is the only way the film ought to be watched.

Touted to be a mass action feast, Master also includes 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, with visuals of his showdown with Vijay in the film's teaser receiving a thunderous response. Master will see Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, followed by Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das, Gouri Kishan, Master Mahendran, KPY Dheena, Ramya Subramanian, Azhagam Perumal among others forming the supporting cast.
