Mohanlal’s blockbuster cult classic film Spadikam turned 25 years yesterday, March 30. On this milestone year, the makers are planning to digitalize the film and re-release it on a grand scale. This film written and directed by Bhadran stars Mohanlal and Urvashi in the lead roles. The film also features Thilakan, Spadikam George, KPAC Lalitha, Rajan P Dev, Silk Smitha, Nedumudi Venu, Chippy, and VK Sreeraman in supporting roles. The dialogues were written by Rajendra Babu. Director Bhadran has now released a motion poster for Spadikam ahead of its grand re-release.

Spadikam was the highest-grossing Malayalam film of the year 1995, collecting more than ₹5 crore at the box office. Mohanlal won the Kerala State Film Award and several others awards for playing the character Aadu Thoma. The film was remade into Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada languages. The Tamil version had Sundar C in the lead role and it was titled Veerapu. Even the Tamil version went on to do decently well at the box office. We wish Spadikam repeats the magic once again on the silver screen. Now check out the motion poster:
