Silambarasan TR is keeping himself mighty busy with his film commitments and his fans couldn't be any happier. The flamboyant star has been treating them with updates from his upcoming ventures on a consistent basis ever since his return to social media, while also completing the rural action family entertainer Eeswaran under Susienthiran's direction at a quick pace. Post Eeswaran, Simbu resumed filming for his Maanaadu with Venkat Prabhu at Pondicherry earlier this month and had earlier in the day released the first look poster, which has since received thunderous feedback. Having said that, STR has now surprised his fans without any prior announcement by dropping the Maanaadu second look poster, which looks absolutely stunning to say the least. Check it out below:

Touted to be a mass masala political action entertainer, Simbu's Maanaadu is being produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions and features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is a special one for STR, Venkat Prabhu and Yuvan as it marks the first time they are working on a full-length project together after the star made a cameo appearance in the director's 2010 hit Goa. The character name of STR in Maanaadu was revealed to be Abdul Khaliq and is the first time ever that he will be playing the role of a Muslim on screen. Production on the film kicked off earlier this year after the project was first announced in mid-2018 amidst massive expectations.

Maanaadu has been a film fans have been wanting Simbu to be a part of ever since it was revealed that it is a full-out political venture. The film is a multi-starrer and includes Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead, followed by SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee. Mahendra and veteran directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in pivotal roles. Furthermore, Chennai 600028 II Innings actress Anjena Kriti is a part of Maanaadu nd had shot a song with Simbu before the lockdown brought the production to a halt earlier this year. Some of the notable technical talents in the film's crew include Richard M. Nathan for the cinematography, Praveen K. L. for the editing, Rajeevan for the production design, action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva and costume designs by Vasuki Bhaskar.
