‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth is on a roll after it was announced last week that the veteran actor will be joining hands with blockbuster director Siva for the tentatively titled project, Thalaivar 168. To be produced under the Sun Pictures banner, the upcoming film will be thethird-time collaboration for Rajinikanth with the reputed production house after their previous smash successes, Enthiran and Petta. With production expected to kick-off from this December, sources close to us have now revealed that Thalaivar 168 will have music scored by D. Imman.

The hit composer has risen to the top of the league in Tamil cinema in recent times after delivering chartbuster songs in blockbusters like ‘Thala’ Ajith’s Viswasam and Sivakarthikeyan’s Namma Veettu Pillai. Thalaivar 168 will also incidentally mark the first occasion D. Imman will be scoring for a Rajinikanth film and also the second consecutive association for the composer with director Siva after their Viswasam released earlier this year. Apart from Imman, we had revealed last week that editor Ruben, who is at present attached to the upcoming ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay starrer, Bigil, is now part ofThalaivar 168, which will be a family entertainer catering to audiences of all ages.
