Anushka - Madhavan starrer, Nishabdham, which was scheduled to release in the first week of April this year, is now indefinitely postponed due to the current pandemic situation. Nishabdham has been made as a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil (titled as Silence) and it features Anjali, Shalini Pandey, and Kill Bill fame Michael Madsen in important roles. Recently, there were wide speculations that the film would directly release on OTT platform as the reopening of theatres look uncertain in the near future. It was also added that Amazon Prime Video has bought the streaming rights for a record price.

However, the film's producer Kona Venkat (of Kona Film Corporation) clarified about the rumour on his official Twitter page. He said that the team is definitely planning for theatrical release as of now and that is their top priority. However, if the theatres don't reopen for a long time, they'd have to opt for OTT release, he added. "Lot of speculations r being made on the release of our film NISHABDHAM in the media. We would like to clarify that “Theatrical release is our top PRIORITY.If the situation isn’t favourable for a long time then our alternate would be to release on OTT platform”. Hope for the best👍", Kona Venkat tweeted.

Nishabdham/Silence is directed by Hemant Madhukar and has music scored by Gopi Sunder and Girishh. As the producer says, let us wait for a few more weeks to know the release plans of Nishabdham. Stay tuned. Check out his tweet below:
