Tim Brooke, veteran British comedian died on Sunday (April 12) morning due to the deadly COVID-19 disease. He was 79 years old. Tim became active in performing in comedy sketches while at Cambridge University, and became President of the Footlights club, touring internationally with the Footlights revue in 1964. Becoming wider known to the public for his work on BBC Radio with I'm Sorry, I'll Read That Again, he then moved into television working together with old Cambridge friends John Cleese and Graham Chapman.
Their TV show, which ran throughout the 1970s, was a hit in Britain, Australia and New Zealand and developed a cult following in many other countries. The Goodies formed part of a golden era of British television comedy in the 60s and 70s. Brooke-Taylor is survived by his wife, Christine, and two sons. Brooke married Christine Weadon in 1968 and they had two sons, Ben and Edward. He lived in Berkshire.
