Popular Malayalam actor Basil George passed away last night (May 3) after meeting with a tragic accident at Mekkadambu in the district of Ernakulam. According to reports online, the accident has also killed two other people who are identified as Nidhin (35) and Ashwin Joy (29). It is said that the car, in which Basil was travelling, hit an electric post and crashed on to a building nearby, where migrant workers were living. The workers have also been unfortunately injured in this accident.
It is also reported that the car carried five people, who were travelling from Muvattupuzha to Kolenchery. Five people, Latheesh, Sagar, Jaydeep, Amar and Ramon Sheikh, who were badly injured, are currently getting treated at Kolenchery Medical College Hospital. The accident reportedly happened due to speeding.
For the uninformed, Basil George is a popular Malayalam actor who played the lead role in the film, Poovalliyum Kunjadum, that was released in 2019.
