Bigg Boss sensation Kavin is awaiting the release of his next film, Lift, which is a supernatural thriller, directed by debutant Vineeth Varaprasad. The film has got high expectations among the fans and people are already looking forward to seeing the film soon. Lift will mark Kavin's first release after his Bigg Boss stint and on that aspect, Lift has a good presence on social media. Kavin took part in the third season of Bigg Boss and he earned a huge fan base through the show. Those fans are now ready to celebrate Lift which is getting ready for release. Recently, there were speculations circulating on social media that Lift will have a direct OTT release and the news created a buzz among the fans.

Clearing the air, the makers have officially confirmed that Lift will release only in theatres and asked the fans not to believe in rumours. The theatrical distribution rights of Kavin's Lift has been acquired by Libra Productions, owned by Ravindar Chandrasekharan, and the update regarding the film's release plan was shared through the official Twitter handle of Libra Productions. The tweet from Libra Productions read, "Lift update: we hereby confirming official. Lift movie will hit theatres with 100% occupancy.please do not believe the rumors it wil be direct OTT. Sound engineer Tapas nayak working on sound level with lot concentration as the movie demands. Perfect theatre motivation movie".

Through this update, the makers have confirmed that Lift will only have a theatrical release as the film demands a theatrical experience. However, the 100% occupancy might take a few more months than expected as the theatres will initially reopen only with 50% occupancy.

Lift features Bigil fame Amritha Aiyer as the female lead, while Abdool Lee, Gayathri Reddy play supporting roles. Produced by Hepzi under the banner of Ekaa Entertainment, the film has music composed by Britto Michael and cinematography handled by S Yuva.
