Legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away at 1.04 PM on September 25 at MGM Healthcare. Director Venkat Prabhu shared the news through his official Twitter page. He wrote, "#RIPSPB 1:04pm". The news has broken the hearts of people across the world and 2020 is definitely becoming a year to be forgotten. SP Balasubrahmanyam was 74 years old when he breathed his last. After getting admitted to MGM Healthcare hospital on August 5 for Corona complications, SP Balasubrahmanyam has been under medication for the past 50 days. Despite recovering from Corona Virus, his lungs were affected and the Doctors tried their best to make him get back to normalcy.

He showed good signs of recovery in the past few days and we were regularly updated about his progress through his son, Charan. However, his health worsened in the past 24 hours and since then, the fans were hoping for a miracle to happen. SPB's demise is a big loss to the Indian film fraternity and he has left a void in the music industry. A lot of notable celebrities and fans have been sharing their condolence messages on social media. Galatta Media prays for the departed soul to rest in peace. SPB is survived by his wife Savithri, son SPB Charan and daughter SPB Pallavi.

Talking about the achievements of the legendary singer, he has won six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer. SPB is also a recipient of the Civilian honours, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. After making his singing debut with the Telugu film, Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna in 1966, SPB has recorded more than 40000 songs in various languages. Notably, SPB holds the record for singing most number of songs by a male singer. He was a versatile singer who was the best in any given genre. He has made some of the ordinary songs sound extraordinary with his rendition and the country wouldn’t find a singer of his stature.

He has already recorded his voice for some of the songs in upcoming Tamil and Telugu movies and we will be knowing about his last song in the next few months. As an actor, SPB has featured in notable films like Manathil Uruthi Vendum, Keladi Kanmani, Gunaa, Thiruda Thiruda, Kadhalan, Kadhal Desam, Ullaasam, Minsara Kanavu, Priyamanavale, Naanayam, etc.
