Popular TV actress Leena Acharya passed away in Delhi on Saturday following a kidney ailment, according to actor Rohan Mehra. She was in her late 30s. Rohan was her co-star in the Hindi web series Class of 2020. Leena had posted a few quotes from the internet on her Instagram page a month back and among them was one in Hindi that read, "Chand saasein hi hain jo uda lejayengi aur isse zyada maut kya le jayegi (Only a few breaths will take me away, what else will take death away from me)". Apart from her TV appearances, Leena has also starred in Rani Mukerji's 2018 smash box office hit film, Hichki.

Leena Acharya's co-star Ayush Anand in Perfect Pati, which aired from 2018-2019, said she had never mentioned about her kidney ailment. Speaking to news agency PTI, Ayush told, "It was only yesterday when I had a word with her brother I got to know that she was suffering from kidney issues since the past few years and was living on just one kidney that too donated by her mother." Describing Leena as a jovial person, he stated that she was extremely passionate about her work. He added, "She never mentioned about this (illness) on set and was always smiling, keeping the environment on set positive."

Actor Rohan Mehra too took to his Instagram page to share a picture of him along with Leena Acharya in a story from the filming of an ALTBalaji show. He wrote, "Rest in peace, Ma'am. Last year, this time, we were shooting for Class of 2020. Will miss you." Likewise, screenwriter and actor Abhishek Gautam posted in Hindi on Facebook saying, "My good friend and a great artiste Leena Acharya, who would always stand up for others, bid goodbye to this world and I lost a good friend. You will always be missed my friend." Leena's Seth Ji co-star Worship Khanna posted a still with her from the show and wrote the caption saying, "It's sad when the person who gave you memories becomes one. RIP."

Actor Abhishek Bhalerao shared a screenshot of his final interaction with Leena Acharya and wrote on his Twitter page, "My last conversation with Leena Acharya.....May your soul Rest in Power @leenaacharya2 An amazing actress a hustler, one who would apply and go regularly to every audition I would share with her. A beautiful soul. #RIPLeenaAcharya #Actress".
