Karthi had a successful 2019 as his Kaithi turned out to be a commercial blockbuster, with a sequel in planning since then being revealed by the actor and director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Karthi then ended the year with Thambi alongside Jyothika and announced his next project to be Sulthan under Remo fame Bakkiyaraj Kannan's direction. Being produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu's Dream Warrior Pictures banner, production on Sulthan wrapped up recently, with the film being billed to be a fun-filled action romance entertainer and will incidentally mark the Tamil cinema debut of South sensation Rashmika Mandanna.

Having said that, it was announced by the makers recently that the much-awaited Sulthan first look poster will be unveiled as a festive treat on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami and that word has now been fulfilled. Taking to their Twitter page, Dream Warrior Pictures have now shared the Sulthan first look poster featuring Karthi. The film is said to be one of the biggest ventures to have been made by the production house and who are planning to package it into a complete entertainer. Check out Karthi's Sulthan poster below:

With post-production works already underway on Sulthan, it is being stated that the makers plan to bring the film out alongside 'Thalapathy' Vijay's much-awaited Master, which as per those in the film trade is being speculated to be coming out as a Pongal 2021 release. Having said that, Sulthan's release depends on the COVID-19 situation as Dream Warrior Pictures are intent on releasing in theatres and not on any OTT platform as was being speculated sometime back. If Sulthan does come out opposite Master, it would be the second consecutive occasion that Karthi and Vijay's films will be squaring off at the box office after last year's Kaithi and Bigil.

Sulthan includes a strong technical team among whom include the Vivek-Mervin duo for the music, followed by cinematography by Kaithi and Master fame Sathyan Sooryan, while Ruben is the editor. The film also includes veteran actor Napoleon playing the role of Karthi's father. Expectations for Sulthan are high as a lot has been said about the film in recent times, with director Bakkiyaraj Kannan focused on making it a top-class entertainer for all ages.
