Actor Dhanush's upcoming film Jagame Thandhiram directed by Karthik Subbaraj and produced under S. Sashikanth’s Y Not Studios banner was planned initially to hit theatres earlier this year on May 1. However, the coronavirus pandemic forced the team to call off the release plans, with fans still waiting for a word on when it will arrive in theatres. Touted to be an international gangster venture with the story predominantly set in the United Kingdom, the film also coming out in Telugu as Jagame Tantram will feature music by Santhosh Narayanan, with the composer's 'Rakita Rakita Rakita' song released on Dhanush's birthday turning out to be a huge chart-buster.

Earlier this week, Y Not Studios announced that fans will be treated to the 'Bujji' video song from Jagame Thandhiram on November 13 in light of Diwali. Now, the makers have dropped yet another bombshell announcement revealing the singer for the song to be none other than composer Anirudh Ravichander, thereby reviving the DnA (Dhanush and Anirudh) combo once again. It has been announced that the Tamil version of the 'Bujji' song will include vocals by Anirudh to the lyrics penned by Vivek, while the Telugu version has been sung by Santhosh Narayanan himself with lyrics by Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar. The 'Bujji' song in Jagame Thandhiram is expected to be a dance number and will likely show Dhanush shaking his legs and tapping his feet, thereby serving a perfect treat for the National Award winner's fans. It is to be noted that the DnA combo was last month also announced to be coming back for an untitled film to be produced by Sun Pictures.

Production on Jagame Thandhiram was carried out to a large extent in London, including Madurai in Tamil Nadu. The film also includes popular Hollywood actor and Game of Thrones fame James Cosmo as the prime antagonist, with the supporting cast featuring names like Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Kalaiyarasan, Sharath Ravi, Sanchana Natarajan, Super Deluxe fame Ashwanth and others. The film also has a strong technical team with Shreyaas Krishna for the cinematography and editing done by Vivek Harshan. Although the plot of Jagame Thandhiram is under tight wraps, there have been speculations that the film will be revolving around the journey of Suruli, a small-time gangster in Madurai, played by Dhanush, who leaves to London for an unfinished business.
