Ever since the outbreak of the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic, people are actively monitoring the number of new peopoe getting infected daily. While everybody has been following this, the number of people recovering from the Corona Virus is slowly increasing and soon, it is set to overtake the number of active cases, in India. Initially, the rate of recovery started out at 10% but has now risen to be around 50% and shall soon be more than 50%. The Government of India's decision as on May 8th to declare mild and medium cases as recovered, if they do not show any further symptoms after 10 days, has ensured that we will reach the milestone of over 50% recovery, in as soon as the next 5 days!
In the first week of May, the number of active cases in India was about two times the number of recoveries but looking at the rate of recovery now and the daily number of infections, it looks like the trend will reverse soon. Maharashtra announced 8000 recoveries on a single day, on May 30th alone and this contributed to about 70% of the overall recoveries in India, on that day! Experts state that one of the reasons for the high recovery rate in India, is due to the low mortality rate. With the increase in the recovery rate, the efforts to contain new infections and clinical management of serious cases is required to effectively control the COVID spread. Stay tuned for updates...
