Priya Bhavani Shankar became a youth heart-throb ever since her news presenter days after which she entered the television industry. The popular actress hit the jackpot in her big screen acting debut with Meyaadha Maan opposite Vaibhav in 2018 and went on to feature in Karthi's Kadaikutty Singam, Monster opposite SJ Suryah, including Mafia: Chapter 1, which hit theatres earlier this year. Having said that, Priya Bhavani Shankar has now been announced to be playing the female lead in producer R Ravindran's Trident Arts' tentatively titled Production No 8 opposite Ashok Selvan, who starred in the runaway romantic comedy hit Oh My Kadavule.

The upcoming venture to be directed by Sathuram 2 fame Sumanth Radhakrishnan with Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead roles will also feature Nasser, Munishkanth, Kalakka Povathu Yaaru fame Yogi and Ravi Maria in vital supporting roles, with the technical crew comprising Bobo Sashi scoring the music, Praveen handling the camera, editing by Rahul, art direction by Durairaj, while R. The film is the next big venture for both Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar, who are currently attached to several projects. Ashok Selvan is awaiting the release of Mohanlal's historical epic war film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, which will mark his debut in Malayalam, followed by Red Rum and Nenjamellam Kadhal in Tamil and Ninnila Ninnila in Telugu opposite Nithya Menen and Ritu Varma. Similarly, Priya Bhavani Shankar has Atharvaa's Kuruthi Aattam, Oh Manapenne opposite Harish Kalyan, Bommai once again with SJ Suryah after their Monster last year, including multi-starrers such as Kalathil Santhipom alongside Jiiva, Arulnithi and Manjima Mohan starrer, director Chimbu Deven's Kasada Thapara that has Harish Kalyan, Premgi Amaren, Regina Cassandra, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Sundeep Kishan, Venkat Prabhu and Vijayalakshmi, Vaan with Dulquer Salmaan, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kriti Kharbanda and, Kamal Haasan's Indian 2, which will see her sharing screen space Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Samuthirakani among others.
