Kaun Banega Crorepati is one of India’s most popular television game show based on the British programme Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? It originally aired on Star Plus for the first 3 seasons from 2000 to 2007 and for the past few years, it has been airing on Sony TV and produced by Big Synergy. Yesterday, Sony TV announced that the registration for this year’s Kaun Banega Crorepati will begin on May 9th despite the corona outbreak and the lockdown. The host of the show, Amitabh Bachchan had shot a promo video from KBC from his house and had posted it on his social media space.

Inviting viewers to register for KBC 12, Bachchan says that while the world is at a stand-still, one cannot stop dreaming. He gives examples of how schools, shopping malls, late-night drives and hanging out with friends have taken a break. However, one’s dreams can never be affected by the lockdown. And KBC 12 is here to give those dreams wings to fly. The entire process for this year’s KBC will be in digital form. The makers have only opened the audition for now and the show’s start date will be finalised only when the lockdown is removed completely. The audition process will be divided into four parts – registration, screening, online audition and personal interview. Do give it a shot, you may even be the lucky winner.
