The first look poster of Ajith Kumar's Valimai was announced to release on May 1 on account of Ajith's 50th birthday. The fans were eagerly looking forward to the d-day and several exciting celebrations were planned by them. However, the plan has now been scrapped by the makers of Valimai. Yes! The first look poster of Valimai will not release on May 1, as earlier announced, due to the spike in the Covid 19 cases (because of the second wave) and the medical crisis that has affected the whole country. With shortage of hospital beds, oxygen supplies, and loss of so many innocent lives, the team of Valimai has made a wise decision of not having any celebrations.

Boney Kapoor shared the news on his official Twitter page and it has come as a disappointment for Ajith fans. The official statement from Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP reads, "We had announced that we would be releasing the first look of our film "VALIMAI" on May 1, 2021 to coincide with Shri Ajith Kumar's 50th birthday. At the time of making the announcement, none of us had even anticipated that the 2nd wave of Corona virus would spread across India like a tsunami. At this moment, lakhs of Indians are affected by financial hardship and emotional trauma due to loss of family members and friends. At this critical juncture, Zee Studios & Bayview Projects along with the Artists' and technicians of our film, "VALIMAI" have decided to postpone the first look release of our film to a later date. Let us all join hands and pray for everyone's well-being and safety.".

During these testing times, it is important for all of us to stay safe and protected, and let us hope that the situation gets better very soon. The first look poster is expected to be out when the country is out of the medical crisis. This decision from Ajith Kumar, Boney Kapoor, and the team of Valimai has got a positive welcome from the general audience.

Valimai is directed by H Vinoth and has music scored by Yuvan Shankar. The majority of the film's shoot is completed and there is only one abroad schedule that is left to be done. Rumours suggest that Valimai is planned to release in theatres on August 12, but a final decision will be taken only depending upon the Covid-19 scenario. For now, check out the official statement regarding the postponement of Valimai's first look release here:
