The performance powerhouse of tinsel town - Kangana Ranaut has been recently in the news for her upcoming project Thalaivi, in which she would be seen playing the role of the iconic former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Dr. J. Jayalalithaa. However, the first look of her yet another new project has been released earlier today and it is creating waves! Kangana would be seen playing an Indian Air Force pilot, in this upcoming project which has been titled Tejas. The first look has a suave and classy looking Kangana in uniform with a fighter jet in the backdrop!

Tejas, directed by Sarvesh Mewara's direction, is being bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala under his RSVP banner. This project is expected to go on floors towards the end of this summer and be ready for release in April 2021! The Air Force was the first of India's armed forces to induct women in frontline combat roles and this landmark event happened in 2016! This military drama Tejas, is said to be based on this milestone and a pilot who puts the country before her own self! The makers are going by the plot-line that irrespective of gender, when it comes to serving the nation, all are equal!

A media report quotes Kangna as stating, "Very often the sacrifices made by our brave women in uniform go unnoticed by the nation. Tejas is a film where I have the honour of playing the role of one such Air Force pilot that puts country before self . I hope we instil a sense of patriotism and pride in the youth of today with this film. I am looking forward to the journey with Sarvesh and Ronnie on this one.” Audiences now know that when Kangana chooses a project, there sure would be ample scope for her to showcase her histrionic skills and Tejas is sure to be one such movie!
