The much-awaited Shaitaan teaser is out now and is terrifying right from the get-go showing visuals hinting at a big sinister evil lurking around. Billed to be a supernatural thriller and directed by Vikas Bahl of Queen (2014), Super 30 (2018), and Goodbye (2022) fame, the upcoming film starring Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn and leading Tamil actors Jyotika and R. Madhavan is scheduled to open in cinemas worldwide starting March 8, with the visuals in the teaser now out giving the audience a glimpse into the big treat awaiting them at cinemas.
The Shaitaan teaser kickstarts with a spooky narration by a ghostly voice saying, "They say the world is deaf, yet they listen to every word of mine. I am darkness. I am the bowl of temptation." Describing itself as the "owner of nine hells", "night", "twilight" and "curse", we hear the background score by Amit Trivedi intensifying as the voice continues speaking. As the Shaitaan teaser progresses, we hear the voice introducing a game and the players who are Ajay Devgn and Jyotika at two different places looking horror-struck, with Madhavan's evil smile hinting that the film is set to be a big sinister potboiler. The voice then states that the sole rule of the game is that irrespective of what he says, they must not succumb to their temptations.
Shaitaan marks Jyotika's big Bollywood comeback after almost after 25 years when she began her acting career with Doli Saja Ke Rakhna (1997). The upcoming film is one of her two upcoming Hindi projects with the other being Sri, a biopic based on the life of visually-impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla being portrayed by Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, which has been announced to open in theatres on May 10. Jyotika, who recently impressed everyone with yet another powerful performance alongside Malayalam superstar Mammootty in Kaathal - The Core, will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders once again in Shaitaan, and this time with Ajay Devgan and Madhavan at the front adding strength to the star cast.
