For the past few days, Meera Mitun has been posting controversial videos against Thalapathy Vijay, Suriya and their families and the videos did not go well with the majority, thereby creating an outrage on social media. The fans have been demanding an apology from Meera, but she has made it clear that she wouldn’t apologize for her videos. Veteran director Bharathiraja issued a statement yesterday (August 10) condemning Meera Mitun’s behaviour of trying to attain publicity through negative talks. Following that, Suriya has now addressed the issue with a new tweet which has instantly gone viral among the fans.

In this tweet, he has placed an important request to his fans, asking them not to react to the negative issues like this. He also thanked director Bharathiraja for extending his support. Suriya quoted one of his old tweets and tweeted, “எனது தம்பி தங்கைகளின் நேரமும், சக்தியும் ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான செயல்களுக்குப் பயன்பட வேண்டும் என்பதே என் விருப்பம். இயக்குனர் இமயம் திருமிகு. பாரதிராஜா அவர்களுக்கு என் உளப்பூர்வமான நன்றிகள்..”.

The tweet is loosely translated as, “My interest and desire is to see my brothers and sisters spend their time and talent in useful and productive activities. My heartfelt thanks to legendary director Bhrathiraja”. This tweet has got a phenomenal response from the fans who have extended their support to Suriya’s words.

It looks like Suriya doesn’t want to give unnecessary attention to the negativity that is spread on social media. Suriya is someone who is known for providing education to thousands of poor students and his good deeds were mentioned by Bharathiraja (in his statement) as well.

On the acting front, Suriya is awaiting the release of his next film, Soorarai Pottru which has got humongous expectations from the fans and general audience. Soorarai Pottru is considered to be one of the trump cards to bring back the audience to the theatres after the pandemic and let us hope that the d-day arrives soon. Directed by Sudha Kongara, Soorarai Pottru has music scored by G.V.Prakash Kumar who has already delivered a few chartbuster numbers including the recently released track, ‘Kaattu Payale’. Suriya also has Vaadivaasal with acclaimed director Vetri Maaran and this film is expected to go on floors next year. For now, check out Suriya’s tweet about the Meera Mitun controversy below:
