One film that has its excitement skyrocketing with each passing day is Thalapathy 65, starring Vijay and is being produced by the prestigious Sun Pictures banner, with Kolamaavu Kokila and the upcoming Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Doctor fame Nelson Dilipkumar serving as the director. As all sights are set for the Thalapathy 65 first look and title reveal on Monday at 6PM ahead of Vijay's birthday on June 22, Sun Pictures on Sunday released a surprise promo video informing fans to get ready for the big treat tomorrow. Although not much is revealed in the promo and has visuals from the film's announcement video back in December last year, it does rev up the hype as it is one of the biggest Tamil projects in development at present.

Thalapathy 65 is the second Vijay venture being produced by Sun Pictures after the 2018 blockbuster, Sarkar. It is incidentally the fourth association for the two after the illustrious production banner distributed Vettaikaaran, Sura and their own film, Sarkar. Expectations for Thalapathy 65 are massive considering the film is touted to be an out-and-out action feast based on the promos released so far, teasing visuals of a machine gun and bullets. Vijay will want to carry forward his blockbuster success streak with the film, especially after his Master released earlier this year turned out to be a raging box office success, including topping the most popular Indian films of 2021 on streaming so far on the leading global online film database, IMDb. Likewise, Nelson Dilipkumar too will be looking to come out all guns blazing and hitting the bullseye with Thalapathy 65 as it is his third directorial venture.

The Thalapathy 65 team is at present in Chennai and are expected to take a call in the days ahead on resuming shooting in Chennai now that the Tamil Nadu government has announced a new set of lockdown relaxations. 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the film and he too will be looking to deliver yet another chart-buster album and musical score, especially after the staggering response to his work in Kaththi and Master. The film also has actress Pooja Hegde making her comeback to Tamil cinema after nearly a decade when she made her debut in Mysskin's Mugamoodi. The Thalapathy 65 supporting cast also includes popular Malayalam stars Shine Tom Chacko and Aparna Das, followed by VTV Ganesh among others.
