Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's Laabam which was initially scheduled to release in April has now been announced to release on May 13 for the Ramzan weekend. The official announcement regarding the new release plan was made by the makers, this evening (April 22). The second single from the film was released today and along with the song, the new release plan was revealed. However, the release plan is subject to change, depending on the intensity of Covid 19 situation. Let us hope that things come under control before that. Talking about the newly released second single, the song is called 'Yaamili Yaamiliyaa', which is sung by Divya Kumar.

The song's lyrics are penned by Yugabharathi and the lines carry socially important messages. 'Yaamili Yaamiliyaa' will appeal even better when we watch it along with the film. The song's composition looks neat and interesting and due credits to music director D Imman. The song has been released on the official YouTube channel of Lahari Music who owns the film's audio rights. The film is directed by SP Jhananathan, who died in March 2021, following a cardiac arrest. His demise came as a shocker for Tamil cinema fans and it is going to be very emotional when we witness the film in the theatres, in his absence. Jhananathan had almost completed the works of Laabam and only minor post production works were left to be completed.

The works are now being carried out by Jhananathan's team and the film is on track for release in Ramzan weekend. The video of 'Yaamili Yaamiliyaa' is loaded with the visuals of director SP Jhananathan and we get to see a glimpse of his work at the sets of Laabam. The song ends with a visual where Vijay Sethupathi hugs SP Jhananathan and it surely makes you emotional. Produced by Vijay Sethupathi Productions in association with P Arumugakumar's 7Cs Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the film features Shruti Haasan as the female lead and Jagapathi Babu as the antagonist.
