Music director turned actor Vijay Antony met with an accident on the sets of his directorial debut film, Pichaikkaran 2, while performing an action sequence in Malaysia on Monday, January 16. According to reports, the composer had been shooting an action scene and was riding a water boat, which lost control and collided with a bigger vessel carrying the rest of the crew and the film's setup. Vijay Antony was soon rushed to a hospital in Kuala Lumpur and has been undergoing treatment, with Tamil film director C. S. Amudhan, best known for his Tamizh Padam films, now sharing a big health update on his Twitter page saying he has spoken to the people close to Vijay Antony and informed that the composer-actor will be back to shooting his films and also keep fans guessing with his puzzling tweets. He tweeted, "Guys I’ve spoken to his nearest circle & @vijayantony is well, he will be back soon with shooting & his many cryptic tweets! Come back strong nanba..this year is ours!"

Similarly, producer Dhananjayan Govind had positive words to share and informed on social media that Vijay Antony is well en route to recovery mode after the accident and is currently under observation at Langkawi. He also let fans know that the composer's family has reached Malaysia and is planning to bring him back home soon. He wrote, "Happy to share that @vijayantony is fast recovering from the accident injury. He is under observation at the hospital at #Langkawi & his family has reached and with him. They will take a call to bring him to Chennai soon. Let's pray for his speedy recovery & back in action 🙏". The news of Vijay Antony's accident at the shooting spot of his next film came as a big shock for many fans who have been praying for his speedy recovery.
