Vignesh shivan talks about ajith kumar ak 62 movie naanum rowdy dhaan podaa podi - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Galatta Media has been a leading name in presenting awe-inspiring events over the years to audiences and recently organized a grand fans festival for leading Tamil filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. The interaction, which was also presided by popular film reviewer-actor Prashanth Rangaswamy as a special guest, saw the blockbuster director talk about his journey in Tamil cinema, his film experiences and also open up on his personal life. Known best for making films like Podaa Podi, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Thaanaa Serndha Koottam, and Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, the hit filmmaker was earlier announced to be directing Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's tentatively titled AK 62. Vignesh Shivan, who is no longer attached to AK 62, went on to share his thoughts about the upcoming film, while also drawing a comparison with the journey of making Podaa Podi and Naanum Rowdy Dhaan

Speaking about Ajith Kumar's AK 62, Vignesh Shivan stated, "Whether an opportunity comes our way or it doesn't, it's all the same. Imagine a queue and you suddenly go and stand in the front. Then, someone will tell you to wait for a minute and inform you to allow another person ahead. And, when that happens, we take a step back. This is the cycle of life. So, whether we get an opportunity or we don't, it will come our way one day." He added, "I'm a fan of a big hero. When I'm getting an opportunity to work with him, it will be huge for me and we'll carry out the work to go ahead. But, if some things don't work out due to some reasons, it's going to be way more beautiful and better when it happens one day, and that is how we should take it. At the same time, irrespective of how it is, whatever happens, it will be right for us. I signed up for my first film, Podaa Podi, in 2007. In 2008, the film was not going to happen. But, I went to the shooting of the film in 2010. And, that film released in 2012. After its release, I didn't get any big chances."

Explaining further about AK 62 and how the opportunity was similar to how he got the chance to make Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, Vignesh Shivan said, "I went back to poster designing and that is how I was introduced to Dhanush sir. From there, suddenly I got the chance to direct a film called Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. And, after that, I'm going to narrate the Naanum Rowdy Dhaan story to Nayanthara. Over there, something else happens. We made the film and a day before its release, we heard a talk that it's not good. After hearing that, I became vexed and I missed watching the first day first show out of fear believing that the film truly isn't good." He continued, "I had switched off my phone in the morning and turned it on only in the evening at 6 p.m. because of the fear of facing the world. But, the film had worked out well and I had not known that it had become a hit. I switched on my phone in the evening because I realized I would have to face the (reality) and I then saw people saying the film is superb. It was being shown on the Santham screen and three days later it was changed to the Sathyam screen. I watched the film there and I saw everyone enjoying it, laughing, and appreciating the songs. That moment and this moment now are the same. Both of these circumstances are not what I had expected. We expect one thing and something else happens. But, when another thing occurs, something else will materialize. It's a process and we should carry it beautifully forward."
