Vidya Balan is undoubtedly one of the famous actresses in the Industry. The actress, who was last seen in Mission Mangal, made her Tamil debut with Ajith’s Nerkonda Paarvai last year. She was heavily applauded for her acting prowess in this film and ever since regional audience have been wanting to see more and more of her. But whether the actress will be going down South or not, that is to be seen. All her focus right now is on the release of her next big film Shakuntala Devi which is biographical film directed by Anu Menon and produced by Sony Pictures Networks India and Vikram Malhotra under his banner Abundantia Entertainment. Vidya Balan plays the role of Shakuntala Devi, who was also known as the human computer. Other actors involved in the film are Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh. The screenplay of the film is written by Anu Menon along with Nayanika Mahtani, and the dialogues are penned by Ishita Moitra. This biopic was scheduled to for a theatre release on 8 May 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film’s release got postponed and now the makers have decided to go for a direct OTT release. Shakuntala Devi will now stream worldwide on 31 July 2020 on Prime Video. 
 
Shakuntala Devi who was born in Bangalore, Karnataka was a precocious child and she demonstrated her arithmetic abilities at the University of Mysore without any formal education. Shakuntala Devi wrote a number of books in her later years, including novels as well as texts about mathematics, puzzles, and astrology. The child prodigy had the ability to memorise numbers at the very age of 3. Her father while teaching her a card trick discovered his daughter’s special ability and took her on road shows that displayed her ability at calculation. She did this without any formal education. At the age of six, she demonstrated her arithmetic abilities at the University of Mysore. In 1944, Shakuntala Devi moved to London with her father. There are plenty more stories to tell about the life of Shakuntala Devi.
