Veteran television producer and actress Manju Singh passed away on Thursday, April 14, following a sudden stroke. She was 73 years old when she breathed her last. Manju Singh is best known and will be remembered for producing highly popular shows like Swaraj, Ek Kahani, Show Time, and more. Manju Singh addressed and highlighted several social, cultural, and thought-provoking topics, making it reach a wider range of audiences. Fondly addressed as 'Didi', Manju Singh anchored the popular children's program, Khel Khilone which had a successful run for 7 years.

Manju Singh's daughter, Suparna, confirmed the veteran producer and actor's demise while talking to the PTI news agency. She was quoted as saying, "She (Manju Singh) passed away due to a stroke at around 10 am on Thursday at her residence". Manju's final rites were performed yesterday (April 16) after the arrival of her granddaughter from New York. Manju Singh is survived by her two daughters, Suparna and Shalini, and a son named Gautam. Noted lyricist, singer and screenwriter Swanand Kirkire mourned Manju Singh's untimely demise on Twitter with an emotional statement.

Bidding her goodbye, Swanand Kirkire tweeted, "Manju Singh, is no more. Manju ji brought me from Delhi to Mumbai to write her show Swaraj for Doordarshan. She made many wonderful shows Ek Kahani, Show Time etc for DD. Hrishikesh Mukherjee's Golmaal Ki Ratna Hamari Pyaari Manju ji how can you forget your love. Goodbye". The fans have also extended their heartfelt condolences to Manju's family on social media. Manju Singh also acted in the 1979 Hindi classic, Gol Maal which was helmed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, starring Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt in the lead roles.

Manju Singh played the character of Ratna in the film and her performance struck a chord with the masses. Gol Maal is the original version of the Tamil blockbuster Thillu Mullu which featured Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role.
