Popular serial actor Ashwin Karthik, known among Tamil audiences for playing Rajapandi in the hit Sun TV serial Vanathai Pola, announced his engagement to his girlfriend and makeup artist Gayatri Gnanasekaran on Wednesday, September 20. Having garnered a following of his own after his performances on shows like Aranmanai Kili, Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai, and Kula Deivam, while also making appearances in a few films, Ashwin Karthik shared the happy news with Gayatri on Instagram revealing that they got engaged last week.

Ashwin Karthik has posted a picture of himself with Gayatri taken after their engagement ceremony, while also sharing a video of the proceedings, which was held in the presence of family members and close friends. According to reports, the couple has been in a relationship for nearly three years and announced their engagement with the blessings of their parents. Ashwin had introduced Gayatri as his girlfriend earlier this year and fans have been extending their wishes and congratulatory messages to the couple on the big decision to get married soon. The engagement was a simple and intimate ceremony, which saw Ashwin looking dashing in sky sky-blue shirt and black trousers, while Gayatri was elegant in a violet-blue and red saree, and complemented her look with jewelry. 

On the work front, Ashwin Karthik has gained an audience of his own for playing Rajapandi in Vanathai Pola on Sun TV, which has been telecast for more than 800 episodes and enjoys strong TRP ratings. He started his career in the Tamil television industry appearing in a supporting role on the hit Vijay TV serial Aranmanai Kili, which was broadcast for nearly three years before being stopped due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
