In an unexpected turn of events, popular Tamil actor and cinematographer Shaman Mithru passed away on the morning hours of Thursday, June 17. Shaman Mithru died due to Covid 19 complications. A few days before, the talented actor and cinematographer tested positive for Corona virus and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for medical treatment. Earlier today (June 17), he breathed his last after failing to respond to the treatment. He was 43 years old. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Shaman Mithru's unfortunate demise has sent shock waves in the film industry and several notable film personalities have expressed their condolences.

Producer CV Kumar of Thirukumaran Entertainment mourned the loss of actor Shaman Mithru through a tweet that read, "Shocked to hear the demise of #shamanmithru such a young talented Cinematogrpher and actor due to corona. My deepest condolences. May his soul rest in peace .".

For the unversed, Shaman Mithru is a cinematographer who trained under KV Anand and Ravi K Chandran. He made his debut as an actor with the critically acclaimed Tamil film, Thorati, directed by P Marimuthu. Thorati, which was an intense drama featured Sathyakala as the female lead. Shaman Mithru also bankrolled that film under the banner of Shaman Pictures and it had music composed by Ved Shankar and Jithin K Roshan. Though the film received positive reviews from several International Film Festivals across the globe, it did not strike big at the box office. However, the performances of Shaman Mithru and Sathyakala was raved by the audience. Just when things were working in the favour of Shaman Mithru, we've unfortunately lost him.
