Dhanush's latest release, The Gray Man, marked his first Hollywood film and he got to share screen space with some of the biggest names in the industry - Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. The film is directed by the popular filmmakers duo, Russo Brothers, best known for helming Avengers: Endgame. The Gray Man released on Netflix on July 22 amidst wide promotions and it opened to mixed reviews from the critics and the general audience. However, the action segments were widely praised. Dhanush played a special cameo role that appeared for 10 minutes, but his character was definitely one of the highlights of the film.

Dhanush breathed life into Avik San character and ever since the film's release, the fans have been wanting to see more of him. The Russo Brothers also mentioned in several of their interviews that there are possibilities of Avik San's character getting a full-length feature and the plan is on cards. However, there has been a small twist, now. Yes! The Gray Man is all set to have a sequel and the next part will star Ryan Gosling in the lead role, with the core story revolving around him. The Gray Man 2 will be directed by the same Russo Brothers and more details are awaited. The scripting is currently in progress and the brothers are working on it with co writer Stephen Mc Feely.

A spin-off from The Gray Man is also on cards and the script of that is being handled by acclaimed writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. The Russo Brothers made the official announcement about The Gray Man sequel with a tweet which read, "#TheGrayMan Universe… We’re excited to announce that a sequel to The Gray Man is now in development with star Ryan Gosling, us and co-writer Stephen McFeely set to return. A spin-off is also in the works, written by acclaimed screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese". The tweet has already gone viral among the fans and has garnered wide buzz on social media.
