In a shocking incident, American actor Ezra Miller, known for recently portraying the DC Comics superhero character The Flash in Zack Snyder's Justice League, was placed under arrest on the intervening night of March 27-28 on charges of disorderly conduct and harassment at a bar in Hawaii's Hilo. In a statement released by the Hawaii Police Department, the actor had yelled obscenities and lunged at a person playing darts in the bar. Ezra was later released on a bail of $500 (approximately Rs. 37,978/-). "Shortly after midnight on Monday, March 28, 2022, a 29-year-old man visiting from Vermont was arrested and charged for disorderly conduct and harassment after an incident at a bar in Hilo," the statement read.

The Hawaii Police Department further said, "On Sunday, March 27, at 11:30 pm, South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of a disorderly patron at a bar on Silva Street. During the course of their investigation, police determined that the man, later identified as Ezra Miller, became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke." They also stated, "Miller began yelling obscenities and at one point grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail." They concluded by saying, "Miller was arrested and charged on both offenses and total bail was set at $500. He provided the bail and was released." The Hawaii Police later shared the news on Twitter and wrote, "3-28-22 Vermont Visitor Arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Harassment in Hilo."

This isn't the first time Ezra Miller's name has surfaced in media reports for the wrong reasons after he was involved in an accident where he appeared to have choked a woman at a bar in Iceland. The incident was said to be a serious one as per a source close to Variety. On the work front, Ezra will next be seen reprising his role as Credence Barebone in the third installment of the Harry Potter prequel series, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, which will open in theatres on April 15. He will also be seen returning to play the superhero The Flash / Barry Allen in The Flash scheduled for a release on June 23, 2023.
