Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin arrived in Chennai on Wednesday morning, February 7, after completing his visit to Spain. During his interaction with media persons at the Chennai International Airport, he recounted his visit to the European nation and was posed with several queries, including Tamil actor Vijay's announcement of launching his own political party earlier this month. Addressing Vijay's political entry, CM Stalin stated, "Anybody who volunteers themselves for the people, I will be happy."

CM Stalin, who left for Spain on January 27, met top dignitaries and officials from various industrial companies and consulted them to attract investments to Tamil Nadu. He also held an interaction with the Tamil Diaspora on Sunday assuring them that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government would initiate steps to extend support to the Tamils living abroad. During his interaction titled 'Spain Tamizhargaludan Mudhalvar' (Chief Minister with Tamils in Spain), Stalin expressed how he felt moved by the reception he received from the Tamils there despite having visited several other countries. 

Actor Vijay, fondly addressed as 'Thalapathy' by his fans and followers, launched his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party on February 2 announcing his jump into Tamil Nadu politics. In his detailed statement, he informed that his political party will not be contesting in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and will make its electoral debut in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly polls. On the acting front, Vijay is currently busy filming The Greatest of All Time under Venkat Prabhu's direction and will be wrapping up his career in cinema with the tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, which is yet to be announced. After The Greatest of All Time and Thalapathy 69, Vijay will bid farewell to his career in cinema and foray full time into politics ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections.
