Taapsee made a striking comeback to Tamil cinema last year with the critically acclaimed psychological thriller, Game Over, directed by Ashwin Saravanan of Maya fame. Taapsee’s performance in the film received highly positive reviews and it also fetched her quite a few notable accolades. Up next, she will be seen playing the female lead in Jayam Ravi’s Jana Gana Mana, directed by I Ahmed of Endrendrum Punnagai fame. This action thriller, which has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, is said to be mostly shot in abroad locations. Apart from Ravi and Taapsee, Jana Gana Mana’s star cast also includes the likes of M.S.Bhaskar, Rahman, CCV fame Dayana Erappa, KGF fame Ramachandra Raju and others.

Meanwhile, it has now been revealed that Taapsee would be acting alongside Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi for a new Tamil film which is to be directed by debutant Deepak, son of veteran director and actor R Sundarrajan. This untitled film will be shot in a single schedule and the shooting is said to begin from the first week of September. The shoot will happen at Jaipur. Details regarding the characters of Vijay Sethupathi and Taapsee are yet to be known.

While talking to Pinkvilla, Taapsee confirmed the project and was quoted as saying, “Yes, it's a Tamil comedy that I'm doing with them along with Vijay. I had said yes to the script around a year ago and the director wanted me only to do this film. We were figuring out dates for this and as soon as things started opening up a bit, we quickly squeezed this one. I will finish the film in around 28 days and it will be shot in a very controlled environment,”. Looks like an exciting project is on cards.

Apart from this new Tamil project, Taapsee also has films like Rashmi Rocket, Haseen Dillruba and Shabash Mithu which are in different stages of production. The shooting of Rashmi Rocket is planned to begin in the month of November and it will feature Taapsee as a sprinter from a rural background. Taapsee Pannu is one of the busiest actors in the country who has earned a name for herself in Indian cinema. The talented actress' last five films, Badla, Game Over, Mission Mangal, Saand Ki Aankh, Thappad, have turned out to be good hits at the box office and she would be looking forward to continuing the success streak with this new set of films as well.
