T Rajendar who happens to be the head of Chennai and Chengalpattu distributors association comes in support of the struggling distributors who incurred a loss for releasing Rajinikanth’s Darbar film in their respective regions. T Rajendar gives a fiery speech against actor Rajinikanth and specifically targets director AR Murugadoss who has filed a case against these distributors. TR’s speech is as follows - “Since I am the head of Chennai and Chengalpattu distributors association head, I am here to talk on the distributors who have incurred a huge loss for releasing Superstar Rajinikanth’s Darbar film. These distributors have acquired the film on a minimum guarantee basis, so they cannot technically go to the court to file a petition against the production house or other members associated with Darbar. But these distributors are struggling because they bought the film above the market rate. So, the distributors association is trying to help them. These distributors had even approached the production house Lyca isn’t willing to give them a proper response. Lyca apparently told them that the production house had given 80 percent of the total film’s budget as salaries to the actors, technicians and the director.
The production house must have sold the film at the rate of Rajini’s Petta. Moreover, the release time was wrong for Darbar, it had a pre-festival release and by the time of Pongal, the film did not have any buzz since there was another new release for Pongal. On top of it, Darbar was like a dubbing film since it was completely shot in Mumbai. AR Murugadoss did not even want to meet these distributors who are suffering. Now AR Murugadoss has filed an FIR report against these distributors for trying to meet him. Your films like Kaththi and Thuppakki went on to become hits because of these distributors, try to be loyal to them. How can a person who cannot even save his own distributors, save the people of Tamil Nadu tomorrow?”
