Earlier this morning (May 17), Superstar Rajinikanth met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and handed over his cheque donation towards the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Relief Fund. Rajinikanth has donated an amount of Rs. 50 Lakhs for the TN CM Corona Relief Fund and the news has garnered wide attention on social media. Earlier, actors Sivakumar, Suriya, Karthi, Ajith Kumar, Sivakarthikeyan, Jayam Ravi, directors Vetri Maaran, Shankar, Mohan Raja, and others made their donation towards the CM Relief Fund and Rajinikanth has now done his part.

After meeting the CM, Rajinikanth addressed the press & media and requested the people of the country to stay safe. He also requested the people to follow the guidelines and protocols of the Government to overcome these testing situations.

On the professional front, Rajinikanth will next be seen in Annaatthe which is directed by Siva of Viswasam fame. Produced by Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures, Annaatthe has music scored by D Imman, while the cinematography and editing departments are headed by Vetri and Ruben respectively. Annaatthe is a mass rural action entertainer and it is going to be refreshing to see Rajinikanth in a full fledged rural film after a very long time. The film features four female leads - Khushbu Sundar, Meena, Nayanthara, and Keerthy Suresh. Among the four, Keerthy Suresh will be seen playing the role of Rajinikanth's younger sister and her role is said to have high significance in the story.

The film reportedly revolves around the emotional relationship between Rajinikanth and Keerthy Suresh. Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Soori, and Sathish will be seen in supporting roles. Annaatthe is scheduled to release in theatres for this year's festive occasion of Diwali, but we will have to wait for a few more months to see if the plan would change, considering the Covid-19 situation. Rajinikanth returned to Chennai last week, after wrapping up a month long schedule of Annaatthe in Hyderabad. According to reports, the next schedule of Annaatthe is planned to take place in Kolkata.
