Simbu has been tasting massive success ever since the release of Maanaadu and the actor is now riding the high horse after delivering yet another blockbuster with Gautham Vasudev Menon's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Silambarasan TR has since then been working on Obeli N. Krishna of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame's action drama Pathu Thala to entertain movie buffs once again. He will essay the role of an underworld don named AGR in this highly anticipated film.

An update regarding the film has come to fruition and this one is a biggie. It comes from none other than Simbu itself who took to his official Twitter handle to confirm the fact that the shooting for Pathu Thala has officially come to an end. He posted some images too in commemoration of this eventful feat. Simbu is seen sporting a cream colored sweatshirt cutting a cake with the team behind the film. Sharing the images, he also attached a nation to it that read, "Finally It’s a wrap for #PathuThala … Cant wait for you all to witness #AGR … Thanks to my whole team for all the support and love :) ". Pathu Thala stands as the official remake of the Kannada neo-noir action thriller film Mufti which had hit the screen back in 2017. Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green, the Tamil remake of the film will star STR and Gautham Karthik in lead roles with the former reprising the role played by Kannada Superstar Dr. Shiva Rajkumar, and he will be seen playing the role of a don AGR, while the latter will be playing an undercover cop. Priya Bhavani Shankar will be seen essaying the female lead in the film, while renowned visionary filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon is also part of the main cast.
