Leading actor-producer Sivakarthikeyan was the chief guest at the audio launch of filmmaker AR Murugadoss' next production venture, August 16, 1947, directed by debutant filmmakere NS Ponkumar held at Sathyam Cinemas, Chennai. The grand event held on Monday evening, March 27, saw several big names associated with the film, including, hero Gautham Karthik, actor Pugazh, and composer Sean Roldan to name a notable few. Among the big highlights at the August 16, 1947 audio launch was Sivakarthikeyan's speech, with the actor congratulating the entire team for their hard work in the film, including AR Murugadoss for being an inspiration to everyone, while recalling his own life journey from anchor to actor and also hinting his collaboration with the blockbuster filmmaker soon.

During his speech, Sivakarthikeyan expressed his admiration for AR Murugadoss and revealed how the August 16, 1947 audio launch reminded him of his own life journey. He said, "7aum Arivu's audio launch was hosted by actor Jai and it was telecast on another channel. I wasn't the host since I was with Vijay TV at the time, but I had written the script for the audio launch. Later, when AR Murugadoss entered film production, his first film was Engaeyum Eppothum, and I was the anchor for its audio launch on this same stage. After that, I acted as the hero in AR Murugadoss Productions' Maan Karate. Now, I've come here as a guest to AR Murugadoss Productions' August 16, 1947 audio launch. And, after this, there's an important step I need to take, which will happen soon."

Showering praises on AR Murugadoss, Sivakarthikeyan said, "Success will define our career, but out destiny is defined by our character is how everyone wishes to lead their lives. You are the living definition of that statement, which is visible when each of your assistants speaks." The leading Tamil actor then recalled how director AR Murugadoss would give him suggestions to listen to the stories of his assistants and do films with them from the beginning stages of his career in Tamil cinema while citing Rangoon director Rajkumar Periasamy as an example. Quoting a dialogue from Ajith's Veeram, Sivakarthikeyan then stated that AR Murugadoss is one of the few people who will want to take those alongside him to greater heights. As the fans cheered him on with shouts of Maan Karate, SK wrapped up his speech saying, "We have come so far after Maan Karate and it's now for Karate in Maaveeran."
