Silambarasan TR's Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu released in theatres yesterday (September 15) amidst huge expectations and it has opened to fairly good reviews from the critics and general audience. That being said, the film has taken a super grand opening at the box office and if reports are to be believed, it has taken the highest ever opening for a Silambarasan TR film. The first day box office report has been known and the film has got a double digit opening. Yes! This is the first ever STR film to collect a double digit figure on its opening day at the box office and this report has been officially confirmed by the Executive Producers of VTK.

Though the exact number is not revealed, this double digit figure has been confirmed, thereby making it clear that Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu has become Simbu's highest ever opening film. Produced by Dr Ishari K Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International, VTK is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon who has indeed made a comeback after Enai Noki Paayum Thota which ended up as a failure. The successful trio of Silambarasan TR - Gautham Menon - A.R.Rahman has once again delivered the magic with Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu and the fans are thronging the theatres especially to see their work.

Following the positive word of mouth, the film has picked up well and shows have been increased in multiple centres across the state. The film is expected to end up as a success at the box office and we will have to wait and see how the film fares in the coming days. Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is released by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The film is a life journey of a man named Muthu, played by Silambarasan TR, from being a naive villager to becoming the underground don of Mumbai. This intense gangster action drama has been written by Jeyamohan.
