Blockbuster Tamil director Shankar is returning to sets of Telugu superstar Ram Charan's tentatively titled RC 15 for the next leg of filming after completing a major schedule for Kamal Haasan's magnum opus, Indian 2. The iconic filmmaker has been shuttling for quite some time for both the upcoming biggies that he's directing and is a massive feat unlike any other in recent times. Shankar had been filming Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 in Chennai continuously for nearly a month and is now going back for the next schedule for Ram Charan's RC 15, which incidentally is his directorial debut in Telugu, with the film also announced to be coming out in Tamil as well.

RC 15 rolled into production in October 2021 and filming has been progressing at a steady pace, with the team filming major portions in locations across Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Punjab. There is massive buzz surrounding the upcoming Telugu biggie, including the film's title of late, which is expected to be revealed officially on Ram Charan's birthday on March 27. Shankar is leaving no stone unturned in bringing out RC 15 in a grand manner and the filmmaker moving from the sets of the Ram Charan-starrer and Kamal Haasan's Indian 2 has once again proven his determination and allowed him to display his skills as one of the most skilled and dexterous filmmakers Indian cinema has ever produced. Shankar's RC 15 is being bankrolled by blockbuster producer Dil Raju's Sri Venkateswara Creations banner and is their prestigious 50th venture. The film has several big names in its star cast apart from Ram Charan among whom include Bollywood sensation Kiara Advani as the female lead, followed by Jayaram, Anjali, Sunil, and Naveen Chandra, and S. J. Suryah, who has been revealed to be playing the antagonist. RC 15 will have music by chart-topping composer Thaman. S and marks the first time he is collaborating for the songs and the background score for Shankar after he played one of the leads in the filmmaker's coming-of-age 2003 film, Boys.
