Shah Rukh Khan returned to Mumbai on Tuesday night after wrapping an important leg of filming for his next big film, Dunki, under Rajkumar Hirani's direction. With the Bollywood superstar back in the city, reports suggest that the promotions for his highly-anticipated film, Jawan, being directed by blockbuster Tamil director Atlee is set for a kickoff sometime later this week. Shah Rukh Khan is back in Mumbai as actress Nayanthara, who is playing the female lead of Jawan, had left the city the same evening after reportedly dubbing for her portions in the film at the Yash Raj Film Studio. Set for a grand worldwide release on June 2, promotions for Jawan have been rather low-key up until now apart from an intense title announcement teaser that came out last year. With only a month left for the film to open in cinemas, Shah Rukh Khan's fans have been asking for updates, with many expressing their demand to the film's production banner Red Chillies Entertainment on social media. There were also rumors a while back stating that there's a possibility that the film could be pushed from its original release plan to another date. However, all such talk have been stifled and with Shah Rukh now back after filming Dunki in Kashmir, we can expect updates about Jawan to start rolling going forward.
Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan marks the Hindi debut of filmmaker Atlee, actress Nayanthara, composer Anirudh Ravichander, editor Ruben, and cinematographer G. K. Vishnu, while 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who recently impressed everyone with his performance in the Amazon Prime Video web series Farzi, is cast as the antagonist. The film is coming out as a pan-Indian release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada languages, and has been riding on massive expectations ever since it went on floors.
