It pains us to write about the increasing number of fatalities due to the ongoing COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic. This deadly Virus has already claimed thousands of lives worldwide and infected lots of thousands more. Many people including leading celebrities have lost their lives to the Corona Virus or other illnesses brought on by it and the latest to lose their live's battle to this Tamil producer and actor V Swaminathan who passed away today on the 10th of August. He was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai after testing positive for COVID-19. V Swaminathan is the co-founder of popular production company Lakshmi Movie Makers which was jointly owned by K Muralidharan, V Swaminathan and G Venugopal. Lakshmi Movie Makers experienced significant success in the mid-1990s, with several projects such as Gokulathil Seethai (1996) and Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen (1998) becoming profitable. V Swaminathan apart from being a successful producer also used to make cameo appearances in movies like Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen.  
 
V Swaminathan’s son Ashwin Raja is also a well-known actor in Tamil film industry. Ashvin made his debut as an actor in Boss Engira Bhaskaran (2010) and has since appeared in comedy roles. Ashvin Raja, fondly known as Kumki Ashwin his film debut portraying the student Paalpandi in SMS Rajesh's comedy film Boss Engira Bhaskaran. Ashvin got hitched to his girlfriend Vidya Sri a couple of months back in June during the lockdown. V Swaminathan conducted his son’s wedding in a simple manner due to the corona lockdown restriction. It was a low-key wedding which took place in Chennai despite heavy lockdown restrictions. V Swaminathan restricted the crowd and got his son married in the presence of their family members.
