Karthi's Sulthan is scheduled to release in theatres on April 2 and the fans are eagerly looking forward to the d-day. However, very recently, there were speculations claiming that the film could be postponed to a later date due to the upcoming Tamil Nadu State Election (on April 6) and the increase in the number of Covid cases in recent times. The fans were quite confused about this speculation. To clear the air and stop the speculations going around, the film's producer SR Prabhu came forward and clarified that there is no change in the film's release plan. SR Prabhu requested the audience to take the necessary precautionary measures - wearing masks, sanitizing hands, etc., and watch the film in theatres.

SR Prabhu's tweet read, "Many of our friends are asking whether we are releasing #Sulthan on 2nd April concerning Covid scenario. So far there is no change in that decision. We are sticking to the date! So pls Wear Mask, take proper precautions & wait to enjoy the max fun on screen #JaiSulthan". Meanwhile, the fans are super excited to witness the theatrical trailer of Sulthan which is all set to be released tomorrow (March 24) evening on social media. The trailer will give us an idea of what to expect in the film.

Sulthan is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan who made his debut in Tamil cinema with the Sivakarthikeyan starrer Remo. Sulthan features the young and happening sensation, Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead and this is her first outing in Tamil cinema. The fans are eagerly looking forward to witnessing the fresh combination of Karthi and Rashmika Mandanna on the big screen. Produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures, the film has music composed by popular musical duo, Vivek - Mervin. The young talents have delivered 3 chartbuster songs already - 'Jai Sulthan', 'Yaaraiyum Ivlo Azhagaa', 'Eppadi Iruntha Naanga', and the rest of the songs are expected to release soon.
