Pan-Indian superstar Prabhas has adopted a reserve forest at Hyderabad's Outer Ring Road as part of the Green India Challenge, which is being endorsed by Honorable Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar. The Baahubali actor has adopted 1,650 acres of land in the Kazipally Reserve Forest, which is located near Dundigal, 20km away from Hyderabad. He has also extended a monetary contribution of Rs 2 crore to forest officials for the development of the reserve forest. 

Pictures of Prabhas along with Forest Minister Allola Indra Karan Reddy including MP Joginapally Santhosh Kumar gracing the occasion for laying the foundation stone of the Urban Forest Park have gone viral on social media. The men had taken to a temporary watchtower to observe the reserve forest and then proceeded to plant a few saplings in the region. A small portion of the forest will be converted by the forest department into an urban forest park, while the remainder area will be turned into a conservation zone. The reserve forest is primarily known for its medicinal plants and has been extended in three compartments. The entire 1,650 acres of the land will be fenced by the forest department, with steps already initiated to develop an Eco park. 

Addressing the recent development, Prabhas stated that his friend and Rajya Sabha MP Honourable Joginapally Santhosh Kumar was his inspiration to come forward and adopt the forest area, while adding that he would do so more in installments based on the progress of the work. He requested the Forest  department to develop the reserve forest so that it would create an additional lung space in HMDA limits and develop an Eco park. The actor told that his participation to help the society through "Green Challenge" and adopting reserve forest has given him immense satisfaction. Prabhas thanked RS MP, Govt of Telangana, Forest Minister and Forest officials.

Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar fulfills his promise within a year: RS MP adopted keesara Reserved Forest region to "Gift a Smile" on the birthday of his brother, TRS Working President and State Minister KTR last year. On August 31, 2019,  he laid the foundation stone for rejuvenation of the reserved forest, Eco park. At the event organised on that day, RS MP stated that he would motivate and request his friends to take part in the adoption of the Reserved Forest regions.

RS MP started the fourth round of the Green Challenge on June 11 along with Prabhas. On the aegis of Santosh, Prabhas came forward to adopt a reserve forest. Upon the consultation with the Forest Dept, it was decided that Prabhas would take up the responsibility of developing Khajipally Reserve Forest. RS MP stated very soon many industrialists would come forward to adopt Reserve forest blocks and he would announce the details shortly. The program at Khajipalli took place in the presence of a very small number of guests owing to Covid restrictions.

Forest and Environment Minister Indrakaran Reddy, Spl CS Santhi Kumari, PCCF R. Shoba, Social Forestry PCCF R.M Dobriyal, OSD To CM Priyanka Verghees, Sanga Reddy Dist Collector M. Hanumantha Rao, SP Chandrasekhar Reddy, DFO Venkateshwar Rao, Forest and Revenue officials graced the occasion along with Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar and Prabhas.
