Actor Arjun Das became a sensation across Tamil Nadu after his hard-hitting performance as the main villain in Karthi's Kaithi in 2019 directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Produced under SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu’s Dream Warrior Pictures, the action thriller turned out to be a critical and commercial success, with Arjun receiving massive praise from fans and those in the industry, who took an instant liking to his thick baritone voice. Post the success of Kaithi, he appeared in his first lead role in debutant Vignarajan’s Andhaghaaram, which received positive feedback after being released on the streaming platform Netflix. However, the icing on the cake in Arjun Das' career came when he was announced to have been cast in a pivotal role in the 'Thalapathy' Vijay and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi starrer Master, which came out as a grand Pongal release last month.

Master, which is still witnessing a strong audience turnout in theatres, while also being streamed on Amazon Prime Video, had Arjun Das playing the role of an inmate in the juvenile jail, with his character redeeming towards the end of the film after escaping from the clutches of Vijay Sethupathi's Bhavani, with help and guidance from Vijay as John Durairaj (JD). As Master is still being debated by fans on social media, Arjun was announced on Friday to be starring in the lead role in acclaimed Tamil film director Vasanthabalan's next venture under his newly-launched Urban Boyz Studios production banner.

Vasanthabalan, who is known among Tamil cinema fans for his memorable films like Veyil, Angadi Theru, Aravaan and Kaaviya Thalaivan, has now zeroed in on up-and-coming actress Dushara Vijayan to play the female lead opposite Arjun Das in his upcoming film. Dushara, who made her debut in Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari in 2019, is currently awaiting the release of director Pa. Ranjith's next biggie, Sarpatta Parambarai, which has Arya playing the role of a boxer, with the film set in the 1970s amidst a North Madras backdrop. Dushara dropped the big announcement on Twitter on Saturday and wrote, "Yes it is officially out now. My next after #Sarpatta. Thanks for the opportunity @Vasantabalan1sir & @UBoyzStudios hope you all like it"

Dushara Vijayan had landed the role in Sarpatta Parambarai after her audition, which impressed Pa. Ranjith and it looks like she has floored yet another reputed director now in the form of Vasanthabalan. The news of being cast in the acclaimed filmmaker's next will no doubt boost Dushara's morale and she will be looking to come out all guns blazing when filming begins soon. Vasanthabalan launched Urban Boyz Studios along with his childhood school friends, who studied with him in KVS School, Virudhunagar.
