The stage is set for 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo to take a grand opening at the box office starting October 19 and preparations are well underway to make it the biggest Tamil release of all time. In that light, producer S. S. Lalit Kumar took part in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on X on Thursday evening, October 5, after the launch of his upcoming film's trailer, which has since received a thunderous response from fans and leading celebrities in the film fraternity. During the interactive discussion with fans, the hit producer dropped several big Leo updates, while also addressing the rumors about a conflict between Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Talking about Leo, Lalit revealed that Vijay has already watched the film while informing that the actor was strong in his stance to prove his acting in each and every scene. He further revealed that the first shot was filmed in Kashmir in a temple at -22°C freezing temperature with Vijay, Trisha, and a little girl named Iyal, who plays their daughter in the film. He also said that the Tamil superstar had watched the film's trailer last Monday and enjoyed it a lot. He further shared that Vijay felt sad after the Leo audio launch ceremony was called off. When queried about the rumors of a fight between the actor and Lokesh Kanagaraj, he clarified stating that such claims were nothing else than rumors. Upon being asked whether Leo is a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), he stated that the audience would have to watch the film to know the answers.
Speaking about Leo's release plans, he said that the film will create an all-time record for a Tamil film, while also sharing that there are plans to bring out the Vijay starrer in 25,000 to 30,000 screens worldwide. He further added that the first-day worldwide box-office collections will be announced officially and revealed that there were only minor cuts during the film's censor process. When asked whether there are more songs coming as treats for Vijay's fans, he revealed that Leo's third single is being planned for a release on Monday, October 9. He also stated that a request has already been put forward to the Tamil Nadu government for the 4 a.m. special shows in the state and remained hopeful that permission will be given soon. Regarding the release issues being faced by Leo in North India, he informed that the film will be coming out in 2,000 single-screen theatres while adding that there will be promotions done in South India and an announcement will be made soon.
