'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo is all set for a grand opening in cinemas worldwide on Thursday, October 19, and the wait is all set to come to an end for fans to witness the Tamil superstar on the big screen once again after the blockbuster, Varisu, released earlier this year for Pongal. In that light, the highly-anticipated mass action drama directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was watched by actor and Tamil Nadu politician Udhayanidhi Stalin, who extended his wishes to the film's team, while sharing his review on X on Wednesday. In his post, the Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development gave a triple thumbs up to Vijay for his performance in Leo, while complimenting Lokesh Kanagaraj for his excellent filmmaking, composer Anirudh Ravichander for his work on the musical front, and the National Award-winning stunt choreographer duo Anbaraiv for their skills in the action department.

Udhayanidhi Stalin's praise, however, didn't stop with appreciating the Leo team as he also dropped a big hint about the highly-anticipated film being a part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). In his review, he went on to add the hashtag #LCU along with a winking face emoji immediately leading to the speculation that the film is a part of the franchise, which was first referenced after it was revealed that the events of Karthi's Kaithi (2019) and Kamal Haasan's Vikram (2022) are set in the same universe. For more than a year now, there has been a huge chatter about whether Vijay's Leo is also set in the same universe, and Udhayanidhi Stalin's latest statement has set off tremendous excitement among the fans ahead of the film's worldwide release tomorrow.

Leo is the second time Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Anirudh Ravichander have collaborated after their blockbuster, Master (2021). The upcoming film also includes an ensemble star cast featuring some of the biggest names in Tamil and Indian cinema among whom include Trisha playing the female lead, with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Mysskin, and Sandy master set to be seen in negative roles, while Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas will be making appearances.
