A new Government Order (GO) has been issued by the Tamil Nadu government ahead of the release of 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo releasing on October 19 in theatres worldwide. The upcoming Tamil film also releasing in Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages, has been permitted for screening for a maximum of five shows for six days in theatres across the state from October 19 to 24. The new GO states that cinema theatres in Tamil Nadu are allowed the screening of one special show for Leo on the above-mentioned dates, with the opening show instructed to begin at 9:00 a.m. and the last show to end at 1:30 a.m. 

The state government in their latest GO has also given directions to the Licensing Authorities under the Tamil Nadu Cinemas (Regulation) Act, 1955 and Rules, 1957, to constitute a special team in their jurisdiction to monitor the violations of provisions relating to the rates of admission in cinema theatres screening Leo. Furthermore, instructions have been given to take necessary action to ensure proper safety and security of the public and the audience visiting the theatres, including regulating proper traffic and parking arrangements and also preventing charging at exorbitant rates of admission during the Leo special shows. 

The Tamil Nadu government's latest GO has come as a clarification after it was initially said that the first show for Leo in the state would start at 4 a.m. The 'Thalapathy' Vijay-starrer is en route to a massive opening as advance ticket bookings have begun in theatres across the state, with expectations high for the film to break box office records. Vijay's Leo has been directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and features an ensemble star cast that includes Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Sandy master, Priya Anand, Mathew Thomas, among others, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
