After entering cinema as a child artiste and then debuting as a lead in 2013, Keerthy Suresh's stocks rose sky high after her National Award winning performance in the 2018 movie Mahanati. Since then, she has been picking and choosing her projects very carefully and has quite a number of projects in hand, in various stages of production! One of the most expected among these is her Bollywood debut, which has been titled Maidaan! This movie, which stars Ajay Devgn alongside Keerthy, is a sports drama which is being bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. The makers of Maidaan have now revealed an important update about the movie...
A new update from the Maidaan team reveals that the movie will be hitting the screens on November 27th, 2020! Amit Ravindrenath Sharma of Badhaai Ho fame, has written and directed Maidaan, which is touted to be based on Syed Abdul Rahim, the founding father of Indian football! Ajay Devgn plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim. Reports state that the shoot for this movie is set to complete by March of 2020. However, Maidaan is said to be very high on VFX content, so the team has reportedly flown in a VFX supervisor from the USA and this is said to be the reason behind the release being set for November 2020.
Maidaan is said to be set in the period between 1952 and 1962, which is considered by many to be the Golden Era of Indian football. Ajay Devgn is said to be learning to play football for perfecting his role! Apart from Maidaan, Keerthy Suresh has a number of other movies too in hand, including the Malayalam magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, Miss India, Penguin, Rang De and Good Luck Sakhi! Stay tuned for further updates...
