National Award-winning Tamil actor Suriya is all set to take over the big screens with the highly-anticipated Kanguva directed by blockbuster filmmaker Siva. The upcoming film also has Animal villain Bobby Deol playing the antagonist and Disha Patani cast as the female lead, and marks the big Tamil cinema debut for both the leading Bollywood stars. With Suriya set to make his big comeback in cinemas in his first full-length role after Etharkkum Thunindhavan (2022), the leading Tamil actor on Sunday, April 14, on the festive occasion of Tamil New Year released a special poster featuring his dual looks, while reconfirming that the film is indeed on track for a release this year.

Suriya conveyed his Tamil New Year, Vishu, Baisakhi, and Ambedkar Jayanti wishes along with the new Kanguva poster, which shows the actor as a warrior in his first look from ancient times and holding a sword in the background of a burning forest, while looking at a modern version of himself in the time with a machine gun amidst a city backdrop. Initially announced to be coming out as a summer release, this latest Kanguva poster has now revealed that the film will indeed be out in theatres this year and it looks like Suriya's fans will have to wait for some more time and hope for the post-production works to be completed soon.

Kanguva is also set to pave the path for a big Tamil cinema return for Devi Sri Prasad, who has been on a signing spree of late after he won the National Award for Best Music Direction for his work in Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise (2021), and the hit composer is expected to come out firing on all cylinders for his latest collaboration with Suriya after films Maayavi (2005), Aaru (2005), Singam (2010) and Singam 2 (2013). The hype surrounding Kanguva has been massive right from the get-go, which came to light once again when the sizzle teaser recently received a stellar feedback, with plans on track to release the film in 3D format in more than 10 languages.
