The trailer of Kangana Ranaut's Thalaivi has been released and it shows good promise. Initially, when the project was announced with Kangana as the lead, the fans were quite doubtful about the quality of the final product, but the team has come up with a very promising trailer which looks impressive. Thalaivi is the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha who became an icon of the nation with her leadership skills. She was considered to be an iron lady who defeated all the odds that came her way.

Talking about the newly released trailer, the promo video celebrates the life of Jayalalitha and we get to see a glimpse of what she went through to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The trailer has moments that garners your attention. One of the minor issues in the film's trailer is that there are a few lip sync issues and it gives a flavour of a dubbed film.

Kangana Ranaut, who was recently honoured with the National Award for her performance in Panga and Manikarnika, seems to have delivered another top notch performance through Thalaivi. Kangana makes a good impression with her act and let us hope that the same is seen throughout the film. Arvind Swami's makeover as MGR is absolutely stunning and the ace actor is sure to make people fall in love with his performance. We also get to see a glimpse of the other actors like Samuthirakani, Poorna, and Madhoo, through this trailer.

Thalaivi is directed by Vijay and the execution looks fairly impressive from what we see in the trailer. If the film is packed neatly with a good mix of all the emotions, Thalaivi will surely turn out to be a winner at the box office. Thalaivi is scheduled to release in theatres across the country on April 23. The film will release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. The film is produced by Vishnu Vishal Induri and Shailesh R Singh under the banner of Vibri Media.

One of the major highlights of the trailer is GV Prakash's musical score. The talented composer is in fantastic form with the success of Asuran and Soorarai Pottru and it looks like Thalaivi is also going to followsuit. GV Prakash's work is going to be a major boost for Thalaivi. The visuals establish the grandeur of the project and the various time periods are differentiated through the colours.
