Director Pandiraj celebrated his birthday yesterday (June 7) and marking the special occasion, the blockbuster filmmaker shared some exciting updates on his next film with Suriya. Pandiraj is currently in the process of filming his next film, Suriya 40, which has got phenomenal expectations from the fans and film buffs. Pandiraj informed that 35% of the film's shooting is completed and said that the remaining portions will be shot when the Covid 19 situation gets better. He also requested the fans to be patient until July after which they will surely have exciting updates.

Pandiraj's official tweet read, "#Suriya40 update Dear #AnbaanaFans 35% படம் முடிஞ்சுருக்கு . எடுத்தவரைக்கும் நல்லா வந்திருக்கு . அடுத்த schedule Lockdown முடிஞ்சதும் start பண்ண வேண்டியதுதான் Our team Ready. Title Mass ah , Pre Anoucement ஓட வரும் . July வரை time kodunga plz". Pandiraj's tweet is loosely translated in English as, "#Suriya40 Update - Dear fans, 35% of the film's shooting is completed. The film is shaping up well. The next schedule will begin after the lockdown restrictions are uplifted. Our team is ready. The title will be launched with a pre-announcement. Give us time, until July. Please".

From what Pandiraj says, it looks like the first look and title announcement of Suriya 40 will be made on July 23 for Suriya's birthday, but let us wait for an official announcement. Suriya 40 is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures and has music composed by D Imman. The film features Doctor sensation Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead, while the star cast also includes the likes of Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Vinay, Devadarshini Chetan, Ilavarasu, Subbu Panchu, Dhivya Dhuraisamy, 'Master' Cibi, Saran Shakthi, Akash Premkumar, and others.

The film's cinematography is handled by R Rathnavelu who has already worked with Suriya in Vaaranam Aayiram.
